“Country Gospel Worship”

There was an “open communion service” at 10:00 a.m. at the Washington Christian Church for all believers in Christ on the same morning as our Unity Service.  “Country Gospel Worship”, at the Fairgrounds (Near the pool) July 28, was well attended.  There were around 200 honoring Christ’s prayer for unity in John 17:21.   Pray along with us that the walls that divide us as Christians may come down!  Our flock was well represented with 67 of our people there for worship.

We have a real treat June 9th with Gary Sheely as our guest speaker for 10:30 a.m. worship.  Gary is the part-time pastor of Linden Street Christian Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  During the week he runs his business, 1Eighty Consulting, and has traveled to clients all over the US to work with them to reduce their risk of workplace violence. His clients include NASA.  His programs focus on creating safe workplace cultures, training leaders how to constructively confront undesirable behavior, and to defuse angry people to gain their cooperation without threats or force.
Gary has published four books, including his latest, “Safe at Work: How Smart Supervisors Reduce the Risk of Workplace Violence.”
He is also a USPA certified Skydiving Instructor and Jump-master, and he recently surprised the members of his high school graduation class by skydiving into the class reunion.  Yep, a fun guy who loves the Lord and has some important things to share.  Let people know he will be here.  You don’t want to miss this Sunday’s worship!  (June 9th, 10:30 a.m.)

Community Unity Worship Service

here in Washington.

The Community Unity Service was September 9th, 2018. Christians in Washington County combined their efforts to honor our “First Responders” (Fire Fighters, EMT’s, Ambulance, Law Enforcement, Etc.)The Worship Service was at 11:00 on the north side of the courthouse. The weather was beautiful for our outdoor worship service.  Several area churches participated. The offering was given to our first responders. We appreciate their service to our communities! There was also a BBQ at the courthouse.  The fellowship was very good with around 200 in attendance.

This Community Unity service was also a chance to worship our God through acts of serving in our community (Romans 12) with a work day coordinating with the Lutheran church, “Hands On Washington.”

2018 Washington Christian Church Float.

Many thanks to those who were part of the church float project.  It was fun for those who worked on it, rode on it and watched some of the kids “be heroes” in the parade.  The theme: “Heroes aren’t born, they’re made, so…’put on the full Armor of God’!  Ephesians 6:11.  The float reminded us of our upcoming celebration of the churches 125 Year Anniversary.  “Celebrating 125 years of making heroes!”   We were given 1st place in the church float category in the Washington County Fair parade!
